Fly Tyer of the Year

Mike George

Congratulations are again extended to Mike George, Olathe, KS for winning the Open Category the 2009 Mustad Scandinavian Open Fly Tying Competition. His entry entitled "Mike's Improved Shrimp" won first place. I believe this helps to set the standard for SOC fly tyer of the year.

I would like to nominate Mike George for fly tyer of the year. He has shone a commitment to helping others learn the art of fly tying. Mike has shone that he has mastered the proven materials, patterns and demonstrated his ability to be innovative.
