2010 FFF Southern Council NominationFriend of the Southern CouncilRick Pope and Temple Fork OutfittersWhen you hear the name Rick Pope the first thing that comes to mind is Temple Fork Outfitters. I know because I have more Temple Fork Outfitters rods and reels than I can count. Rick is also a wonderful humanitarian. Temple Fork Outfitters is great to provide the Southern Council Conclave with items to auction, but this is not where it ends. They help with various educational programs with generous donations. Where Temple Fork Outfitters and Rick shine is with how they help various charities. There is a line of products to help benefit Casting for Recovery, Project Healing Waters, and Reel Recovery. A portion of the proceeds from each of these lines of products are donated back to each organization. Also, products from each of these lines are sold at very substantial discounts for use at the various retreats that each of these organizations have. I have participated with Casting for Recovery and Project Healing Waters Retreats and to see the look in the eyes of the participants when they are given a fly rod and reel outfit to continue learning to fish and participate in these outdoor activities is something that I will never forget. I do not think that you will ever meet a nicer guy than Rick Pope and that is why it is my honor to nominate him and Temple Fork Outfitters as the Friend of the Southern Council.
