Audrey Jackson

Last year I saw a young lady climb up in the lap of one of my fly tyers. She watched intently as he was tying. The next thing I knew she was tying flies, and she was good! Who was this young lady? I found out that she was Audrey Jackson, the daughter of our Managing Directors Chris and Carol Jackson.

Young people like Audrey are the future of fly tying. The interest and love of tying are already instilled in her. She is a natural. I was so amazed with her tying skill that I invited Audrey to tie at the 2010 Conclave. Having young people like her tying, hopefully, will bring in even more of the next generation to learn how to tie and continue to help the sport that we love exist and even grow. I am sure that there are bigger and better things that will Audrey has to look forward to in this sport. Hopefully this will only be the first stepping stone in a lifelong endeavor in fly tying.
