2007 FFF Southern Council Nomination

Conservation Award

Paul Goodwin

The Southwest Missouri Fly Fishers club of the Southern Council Federation of Fly Fishers is proud to nominate Paul Goodwin for the SOC FFF Conservation Award.

We feel Paul's tireless dedication to the conservation efforts over the years makes him worthy of such an honor. Paul is a member of SMFF and as the conservation liaison serves on the board of SMFF.

Paul has been involved in numerous conservation projects including heading up the Crane Creek clean up for the past two years. He has attended water quality workshops and has encouraged the members of our club to attend. He also gathers individuals to assist with water quality evaluations and 'critter counts' done on Crane Creek.

This year Paul secured a grant from the Southern Council for riparian restoration on the Ward Branch of the James River in Springfield, MO. This was a major undertaking for our club in recent years. With Paul’s leadership and the help of club members and other stream team members, we planted 1,500 trees in this area on March 17, 2007.

For these reasons, we submit Paul Goodwin for consideration as recipient of the SOC FFF Conservation Award for 2007.

Sincerely yours,

Michael Kyle, President
Southwest Missouri Fly Fishers
