Tall Tale Teller Of The Year

Dr. Michael Lack

The Northeast Arkansas Flyfishers humbly nominate Dr. Michael Lack for the Tall Tale Teller Award. We do this humbly, because being humble is not exactly the manner of Dr. Lack.

Michael believes, "Why tell the truth when you can get away with a lie?" When he says, "Let me tell you about my latest whopper." He is talking about the story he is about to embellish, not anything that he might have caught.

Those who know Michael say that he practices conservation through ineptness. He will just say that after he landed the fish of a lifetime, he had to release it so that it would be bigger the next time that he lands it. He is sort of like the lodge that you book; when you get there they say that you should have been here yesterday. With Michael it is you should have been fishing with me yesterday, boy were they just jumping in the boat. Of course when you fish with him it is a different story, but there is always a reason for him not catching anything; he wants you to catch them today, the barometer is changing, and of course they aren’t biting today because they all got hooked yesterday.

Michael would be perfect for the Tall Tale Teller. He is Mister Embellishment Incorporated.
