2007 FFF Southern Council NominationConservation AwardFriends of the Norfork and White RiversThe Northeast Arkansas Flyfishers nominate the Friends of the Norfork and White Rivers for the Conservation Award. They have been very diligent in their work on tying to keep our waterways pristine. Besides litigation to stop unlawful gravel mining on area such as Crooked Creek, And Sylamore Creek, just to name a few, they have also started to educate the public and work with city and county governments, on better ways to use our natural resources in a wise manner that will benefit the many as oppose to just benefiting the few. Without groups like this, what shape would our rivers be in with unchecked and illegal development? Would we even have them to fish and enjoy? Dennis Reed |
