Come join the Fort Worth Fly Fishers for a fun day at Dinosaur State Park in Glenrose, Texas. There will be a full-day's worth of activities for you to enjoy There will be fishing in the Paluxy River, casting in the campground areas, or just swapping lies and stories in the pavilion. The main attraction of the day will be to honor our dear friend, and club member, Al Crise. There will be a late afternoon/early dinner in his honor followed by a time where we will share experiences that we have all had with Al. The evening will end with a presentation to Al, for his effort and dedication to our club.

Anyone can enter the park for $5.00 per day. If you are over 65, then you may enter for $3.00 per day. Even better, if you have a State Park pass, you may get in free!!

The pavilion is available from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. There are picnic tables, seating areas, and a cozy fireplace for us to enjoy.

The recommended donation for the meal will be $25.00. All of the proceeds from this event will go to Reel Recovery and Casting for Recovery.

Thank you for coming and attending this event. It will be a day we will never forget. So help us celebrate with Al, and help a great cause!!!

The Great Cotter Trout Festival
Cotter, Arkansas is known as the "Trout Capital USA" and is on the White River system. Each year the Cotter Chamber hosts the "The Great Cotter Trout Festival" at Big Spring Park which celebrates world class trout fishing and safe boating in the Cotter area. Major sponsors have included the North Arkansas Fly Fishers, Mid-South Fly Fishers, Rod and Reel Fishing Club, and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Great food, entertainment and arts and crafts exhibits round out an outstanding family attraction.

"Catch the Vision" - National Trout Nature Center Announced
Internationally known fly fisher and artist Dave Whitlock is to be inducted into the National Trout Hall of Fame. It is associated with the Trout Education Center housed in the Vada Sheid Community Development Center at Arkansas State University (ASU) Mountain Home. Dave Whitlock's honor, as the first inductee, will take place at the Redeemer Lutheran Fellowship Hall, 312 West North Street in Mountain Home, AR. Tickets for the dinner are available at $100 after March 1, 2010. Registration site for "Catch the Vision".

Funding is being raised from various government agencies, industry and individuals for financial support. Grassroots efforts are planning to meet this challenge. Tri-Lakes Fly Fishing Expo

Missouri's largets Fly Fishing Show

Tri-Lakes Fly Fishers will be holding their annual Expo at the Brighton Assembly of God Church from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. in Brighton, MO. located on N Highway 13 just N of Hwy 215 intersection. Admission is free to the public and all demonstrations and programs are free as well.

Over 30 of the most creative and outstanding fly tiers from seven states will exhibit their skills throughout the day. The expo also offers programs on basic fly casting and with instructors providing free instruction. Commercial exhibitors will display and sell their wares while the church’s youth group will serve meals, snacks, and desserts throughout the day.

The club will offer door prizes, bucket raffles, silent auctions, and a live auction. The Expo is the Tri-Lakes club’s only fundraiser, with the proceeds used to support their public service projects that include Bolivar High School’s Outdoor Education Class, Casting for Recovery, Project Healing Waters, and community outdoor education events.

The Expo location is 9 miles south of Bolivar and 14 miles north of Springfield beside the northbound lane of Highway 13 less than half a mile north of the Highway 215 junction.

Smallmouth Rendezvous
Held in Tahlequah, OK. The Smallmouth Rendezvous and Fly Tying Extravaganza is a great fly tying event for tiers of all levels. Even if you are a novice, you will have fun tying flies and visiting with other fly tyers. There is no set schedule, just sign up, come in, pull up a chair, and tie a fly on Friday and Saturday. Dr. Gary Borger - Learn the Master's Secrets of Trout Fishing
Dr. Gary Borger Mid-MO Trout Unlimited is hosting a day long event
with Dr. Gary Borger presenting.

From 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Dr. Borger will present:
"Reading the Water" - The tactics of finding, stalking, presenting the fly to, and hooking and playing trout in lakes and streams; and
"Sight Fishing with Nymphs from Top to Bottom" - Learn these amazingly easy and highly successful new tactics for nymph fishing that makes the process totally visual -- not just fishing dry flies.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., lunch break.
Food can be purchased on site. From 12:00 to 1:00 Dr. Borger will be available for book signings.

From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Dr Borger will present:
"Casting and Mending" (weather permitting);
"Really Matching the Hatch" - There's far more to matching the hatch than having the right fly, learn the underlying secrets for consistent success on big, selective trout during heavy hatches; and
"Presentation" - The many arts and science of fly fishing integrated into one cohesive strategy for consistent angling success, the tricks for fining and taking big trout.

Bronze Level: For a donation of $50. Two seats at the event will be rewarded, and the donor will receive recognition at the beginning of the event.

Silver Level: For a donation of $100, four seats at the event will be rewarded, and the donor will receive recognition at the beginning of the event.

A fund raising event for the Shreveport, LA Chapter of Project Healing Waters

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabiliation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through flu fishing and fly tying education and outings.

Fly tyers from Dallas to Baton Rouge and Points in-between will be demostrating the fine art of fly tying. Raffle items to date include: 2 Temple Fork Outfitters PHW Fly Rods w/Reels, 12 Boxes of Flies from the tyers at the event, and 100 English flies from Billy Horn of South Shields, England, County Judge Bill Stoudt and Sheriff Maxey Cerlino.
