Casting Board of GovernorsHighlights from the CBOG meeting Joan Wulff and Al Kyte retired from the board. Bob Middo, Chris King, will replace them on the CBOG board.Joining the CGOB is Lasse Karlsson of Europe. (He couldn't make it to the Conclave in time for the Board meeting.) There is a major change in that Tom Jindra stepped down as Chairman of the CBOG. In his place will be Bruce Richards as chairman of the Casting Board of Governors. Joe Libeu was awarded "The Mel Krieger Flycasting Instructors Award" An award given by the Board of Governors of the FFF Casting Instructor Certification Program in recognition of those individuals who have made significant contributions to the FFF casting certification program, have dedicated themselves to flycasting instruction and have shared their knowledge with others. Chuck Easterling the Testing Chairman introduced some changes to take place next year. The Accuracy part of the test will be a little different. Watch for changes to this section. You may have to start with the 30 ft target pull in some line for the 20 ft then shoot some out to the 45 ft target. This is in committee at this time. There is a question on one of the new questions #36 on power application. Change to be announced soon. Dusty Sprague on the masters testing: Watch for changes in Target ring size to come and how it is done. David Dias/ Tony Vitale the Continuing Education for CCIs and Masters Chairmen reported that there will be some money for the Travel expenses for Masters/CBOGs or what ever is needed for Con ED, more detail contact David. John Breslin is the Ethic chairman. Al Buhr announced that 42 are now Two Handed Certified Most of the board are too. Bruce Richards, Bill Gammel Gordon Hill are hard at work hammering out some terms for us. There is more to come latter this year. Phil Gay is heading the Disabilities this is in conjunction with PHW. We were honored with 12 Vets from PHW to teach fly casting and they also got to fish on some private waters and from a drift boat on the Yellowstone. This was a very rewarding for the instructors. I know first-hand. Workshops There will be a "Workshop" held before each or in conjunction with Testing of the CCI. The get ready type training is not part of the testing. So tracking at this time will not be kept. Don't forget that on the new MCCI exam, the candidate may be asked to do the tailing loop on the back cast at the option of the examiners. In any event, the major change, here, is that he'll be asked to make a tailing loop on the forward cast using three different techniques:
