FFF Southern Council

There are 2 ways to become a member of the Southern Council Federation of Flyfishers. One way is to join the Federation of Flyfishers (FFF) and live within the boundries of the Council. The Council domain includes the states of Arkansas, Kansas, northern and western Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. The other way to join is approprate only if you live outside of the geographic boundries of the Southern Council. If you join the FFF, you can declare to the FFF that you want to be affiliated with the Southern Council, no matter where you live.

Member clubs listed in the Local Clubs section of this website are affiliated with the Southern Council. Members of these local clubs are members of the Southern Council only if they are also members of the FFF.

A local club in Memphis, Tennesee and a local club in Omaha, Nebraska are part of the Southern Council, even though they are outside of the boundries of the Southern Council.

Members of the FFF (who live within the boundries of the Southern Council) get a copy of the Long Casts mailed to their home every quarter.

If you are not getting your copy of Long Casts contact Pat Smith . Give her your name, address, any local club affiliation, and when you joined. If you have other membership concerns contact Pat or Walter McLendon, VP Membership. Their contact info is listed in the Officers' Web page.

WHAT WILL A NEW MEMBER RECEIVE:

  • New member package will include the most recent Flyfisher magazine and membership card
  • FFF patch and 2 FFF decals
  • Subscription to the Flyfisher magazine (quarterly magazine)
  • Discounted registration fees to enter FFF shows
  • New members are added to the regional FFF Councils newsletter mailing list for more localized news & events
  • Free use of our video library (the only cost is return postage to our office) USA only

Fly Rod Incentive Program

How your FFF Club or FFF Council can obtain new member credits

On new member FFF applications or on-line joins – indicate the name of the club or council on the referred line of the application for them to receive the credits (the FFF office will keep track). PLEASE DO NOT USE PRESIDENTS NAME or ABBREVIATION OF CLUB’S NAME.

  • Youth Memberships ….. 2 qualify as 1 credit
  • Former members - who have not been a member for 3 or more years will qualify as “new”

Once the club/council reaches 12 total new memberships we will contact the club/council president and ask if he would like to choose the rod being offered for 12 members or continue on to obtain a total of 18 new members for the next level of rod.
